In May, Lim Joo-hwan collapsed during his basic training in the military. He was rushed to a hospital where they discovered cardic problems [aka heart problems] were the reason. The 29 year-old actor, who had no prior heart condition before joining the military, is being treated at Armed Forces Capital Hospital in Seongnam.
POPSEOUL wishes Lim Joo-hwan a speedy recovery.

I love him in Tamna Island.
How could the military doctors not detect that during preliminary medical exams, which is mandatory before entering the army? My mom is a doctor and you can see if a person is sick thru tests, eeg etc..hope he get’s well soon..
that’s what I was wondering too?
Many heart problems are difficult to detect w/ just a prelim medical exam.
There have been numerous instances of HS and college athletes (who are required to get a physical before they are allowed to play each season) who end up collapsing and even dying from a heart defect that was undetected.
YOU REALIZE THAT THESE BITCHES FAKE ILLNESSES TO BE EXCUSED FROM MILITARY SERVICE? WHY? I DON’T KNOW SINCE CELEBS ARE ALWAYS ASSIGNED TO DESK JOBS NEAR THEIR HOME. DON’T WANT TO INCONVENIENCE THEM.
SO DON’T FALL FOR THE LIES. HE’S PLAYING THE SYMPATHY CARD SO PEOPLE WON’T TALK SHIT WHEN HE’S SUDDENLY EXCUSED FROM SERVING DUE TO A HEART THAT’S PERFECTLY FINE.
wow true some celebs try to make excuse but your getting mad over someone whos ill, lets just wish him the best.
think its hard to detect if no history of heart problems as said, it is scary though.
There was an incident of a girl who had cardiac arrest while playing DDR years back and she had no history of heart problems either.
that’s scary. really.
Heart failure happened from sitting at that desk taking selcas of himself
I’m sorry but I didn’t mean to laugh but when I read your comment I had too LOL.
ACTOR + MILITARY = DESK JOB IN THE CITY.
HENCE HE WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR A PAPER CUT. WHAT A LITTLE BITCH.
The biggest BITCH is you, a DORK who sits behind his computer screen and make jackass comments.
Cardiac disorders are occasionally discovered in young men when undergoing basic training. I don’t know if the Korean military has Physical Training requirements (running, sit-ups, and push-ups) but it’s likely that a conduction disorder could have caused the problem for him. Another possibility is Valvular Heart Disease, which doesn’t show up on EKG, and is often not discovered till later in life. Give the guy a break!
Whenever I see a photo or other image of LJH – I keep thinking Orlando Bloom.
@dan, How insensitive of you to have such comments.
as everyone mentioned, some heart problems can’t be detected unless you go through some physical harsh conditions such as in Army training. if you living your life without doing such tasks, how on earth you know about it?
I really hope that he is fine and nothing serious. he was way too skinny in Tamra Island but recently looked better.
I wonder if they are allowed to tweet or not if they are in army hospital? have been missing his tweets so badly once he enlisted.

wow you have a eggroll up your ass. why do you even bother to comment, keep your issues to yourself.
Hihi @Issy..Hmm..u got Lm Joo Hwan twitter?? Can u please what is his nick??
Hopefully he’s fine and get well soon..Oppa..
Thanks alot..take care..
Hey nice post^^. Feel free to learn Korean at my blog. Check out my latest post : Situation Dialogue 1
That kinda thing can be really scary and can happen really quickly. I hope he can recover from this.
I notice one or two of these comments here are really insensitive its a shame this is a such a serious matter and people are making jokes. i.e Erin and Dan, I hope you know people die from things like that so learn to think before you speak ignorance is not cute.
YES PEOPLE CAN DIE IF THEY WERE REALLY SICK.
I CAN GUARANTEE YOU THIS IS ALL MADE UP FOR PUBLICITY AND AS A WAY TO GET EXCUSED FROM MILITARY SERVICE. WHERE’S THE PROOF IN MY STATEMENT? IN THE STORY IT STATES THE LIAR “collapsed during his basic training in the military.” EVERYONE KNOWS CELEBS DO NOT.. I REPEAT DO NOT DO ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE TO TRAINING. THE ONLY PHYSICAL ACTIVITY THEY SEE IS WALKING OVER TO THEIR DESK JOBS A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK. SO YES HE’S A LITTLE LYING BITCH.
And I believe you oh so very much because you:
a) have been in the SK army with a celebrity
b) have witnessed all this with you own eyes
c) are a SK celebrity yourself
d) are on of the military trainers at the training camps
thanks for the very useful info. we’ll all take this as a very valuable piece of information.
He should’ve done what Steve Yoo did, and run away to the USA.
get well soon im joo hwan oppa…
