“Dream High” teacher Eom Gi-joon is suspected of a DUI

What happened?
“Dream High” star Eom Gi-joon is currrently acting in the SBS drama “Scent Of A Woman”. However, he may be forced to give up his role in the televison series once the results return from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.

His blood alcohol level was discovered to be too high when he accidentally hit a taxi while driving. The National Institute of Scientific Investigation took a sample of blood from the accident and they are now waiting 10-15 days for the results. The actor insists he had drunk earlier, but he waited until he was sober enough before getting behind the wheel.

If it is discovered that he was drunk, the actor will withdraw from his current drama.

AND THIS MATTERS WHY? ALL CELEBS ARE TREATED AND WORSHIPED LIKE GODS OVER THERE BY THE MINDLESS IDIOT FANS. SO HIS “PUNISHMENT” IS GOING TO BE A HUGE MEDIA CIRCUS OF PUBLICITY INCREASING HIS POPULARITY WITH ZERO CRIMINAL PENALTIES.
CELEBS OVER THERE CAN KILL A PERSON AND STILL GET OFF. KOREA IS A JOKE. IT’S A STUPID COUNTRY THAT REVOLVES AROUND KEEPING THESE WANNABE ‘SUPERSTARS’ HAPPY.

    • soootrue says:

shut the f**k up you mug, thats my country you just insulted you a**hole

    • bd says:

Uhh, there’s a lot more repercussion in Korea about a celeb getting a DUI than in the US, Australia, the UK, etc.

Heck, you just leak a sex tape in the US and you become a bigger celeb. lol

      • bd says:

Heck, a celeb getting arrested w/ a hooker (even a tranvestite) or for pleasuring oneself in a public restroom deals w/ less repercussions than a celeb does in Korea for a DUI.

      • lay says:

and that dAN is one those THE MINDLESS IDIOT FANS who would still treat and worship those US celebrities despite of all that. heh …

      • dAN says:

THERE IS NO REPERCUSSION IN KOREA WHERE CELEBS ARE REVERED LIKE GODS. THESE CELEBS ARE ONLY PUTTING ON A FAKE SHOW OF CRIMINAL PENALTY FOR THEIR PUBLIC IMAGE. THEY DON’T GIVE A SHIT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY WILL NOT SUFFER ANY NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES FOR THEIR ILLEGAL ACTIONS.

          @ bd
And again your are leaving 2 replies at a time. But then agian i agree whit your segment.

        • dwilliams says:

Well dan it depends on the crime, if it is drugs or a sex tape one can forget you career is over but major stuff like DAESUNG killing somebody gets nothing so you are right to a certain extent.

          • I love ? says:

Okay DAN well I see that you don’t appreciate MY country Korea. Well if you don’t you don’t have to go on a website about what’s up with Korean stars and go talk shit about them and Korea. So get a better hobby you fag.

    • Krista says:

@dAN: What I don’t understand is why you are freaking out about this.

Eom gi joon will probably be found guilty of a DUI, pay fines, and all will be well and everyone can go on with their lives.

The only difference is that unlike in the US, this guy will lose his spot in his drama. In the US, a celebrity DUI would probably GIVE you a spot in a drama.

If you didn’t already know, Koreans are extremely strict with their celebrities, i.e., they must be perfect. A DUI like this could potentially ruin his career, so your notion that this will result in an enormous “media circus of publicity” that will be “increasing his popularity” is completely ludicrous.

I would strongly advise that you get acquainted with the culture of a country before engage in bigotry.

  2. ashley says:

He should have toke a taxi home instead of trying to drive himself….

  3. eboy07 says:

Was he really that good in that drama?

  4. sammie says:

Of course they needed to take a sample of his blood. He was so drunk that the blow device couldn’t measure it.

  5. blaznist says:

Acting gone to waste, just shows they all human like us, mistakes happen, oh well.😦

  6. blahh says:

he looks like it also he looks like he sleeps with hookers.

    • lay says:

hmm … just by looking at his picture? then it’s possible for others to also say that you seem like a person who sleeps around when they look at your face

    • I love ? says:

Well blahh I guess you judge people by their looks right. Well if I saw your face I would probably say that you look like a person who sleeps with hookers and is an uneducated person.

At least in Korea they do not let baby killers out of jail and find them not guilty of murder but guilty of lying to police,The Casey Anthony(Florida News) jury was a joke .They let a baby killer out of jail but found her guilty of lying to police .She now will be getting millions of dollars for her story. That it is what it is like here in the States. I hope things work out for him he can learn from this and not do it again.many people think waiting a few hours after drinking is okay but most times it is not.i had an uncle killed by a drunk driver( he was not driving) he got killed by hitting a pole and getting thrown in between the car and pole.So i do not take DUI lightly .I do not think that celebs get treated special in Korea.i think they get more harsh of a punishment because they get fined ,sometimes jailed and not get hired or get banned so that is a lot. Here in the States we have celebs that steal, deal drugs, etc.and they are not in jail they still make loads of money from being a celeb then they brag about it on tv.At least in Asia celebs do not brag about breaking the law and they get fired .So i will just say i hope he learns from this.

    • ereennn says:

Nice Explanation..Thanks…Although I’m Not Korean But Still I Think In Many Of Asian Country Will Not Take It Easy If It Come About Drug n Drunk Driver…Even Though You R Celebrity…

    • ashley says:

      I agree with u 100% : )

    • ashley says:

please vent out your frustrations about the casey anthony case else where. the jurors weren’t ignorant enough to let her free if they had enough evidence to incriminate her, which they didn’t and because over here you are innocent until proven guilty they had no choice. sad, but true.

    • lay says:

… and the recent case of a mum who is going to jail for jaywalking but the drunk guy who ran down his little boy is not.

      • lay says:

oops .. i meant to say “her son”.

      • dwilliams says:

first of all the mom didn’t go to jail and second of all kwon sang woo was drunk and hit a couple of cars and then fled the scene yet he faced no jail time whereas in the states you do that and they catch you, jail time is a must.

        • lay says:

heh … you left out what did the drunk driver who killed the boy get for his crime. by the way, did kwon sang woo killed anyone when he committed his crime?

    • ara says:

i’m sorry about your late uncle. may he rest in peace. and i do agree with your point.

  8. ashley says:

i think dui is serious because the consequences are so immense, but the important thing here isn’t whether or not public criticism will put an end to his career or not, but that he is ok and no one got seriously injured. and i applaud korea for not taking this lightly because it never should be taken lightly and i hope it stays that way too.
