SISTAR does Music Bank the cool way

Are you a fan of SISTAR‘s new choreographed stage?
The tail dance is out, but the belt dresses or should I say mini dresses are still in. Is this the best censorship for minors?
SISTAR made their comeback on KBS Music Bank Yesterday with their singles “Girls Do It” and “So Cool”. The band was forced to change their choreography for “So Cool” following HyunA‘s “Bubble Pop” being banned by the Korea Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee  for appearing sexually suggestive. However, what is the point of changing the dance, if your stage attire is barely there. Their dresses are STILL missing in action!

Nonetheless, the KCC approved the performances below:

Do you agree with the Korea Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee? Are the performances acceptable?

but they already allowed so many hot pants and mini skirts by snsd, airing in national BS !

Not that i’m agree with the outfits here, but, imho, hot pants and minis were already leading the trends to another …er… revealing costumes and explicit dance moves (can’t stand Hyuna’s Bubble pop), so it’s kind of normal to have scenes like this.

if they want to ban, my suggestion is to start by making clear lines about the dos and don’ts. And try to enforce it by standing firm against all possibilities (of rejections, etc). Don’t let grey lines appear.

      THESE RULES SHOULD BECOME PRIORITY.
      RULE #1-
GUYS, MALES, BOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRESS UP LIKE GIRLS.
      RULE #2-
IF YOU CALL YOURSELF A SINGER, YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SING.

Is there a particular reason why you type in all caps? Other than to be annoying, that is.

Contemporary pop musicians are not about singing talent, they’re about performing talent. You need to look back only 10 years or so to see pop acts, all around the world, not even singing live because it was the performance, rather than the singing talent, that drew crowds. This practice goes way back, even to the 40s and 50s where pop acts would lip synch during live performances, some of them even so brazen as to do it without mics! Bottom line, criticising pop acts for not having powerful vocals is like criticising classical musicians for not having great dance choreography, i.e., it’s stupid.

It’s hilarious to me that you would criticize the Korean pop industry without even knowing which criteria to judge it on. While your comments are unsubstantited and generalizations, we have, thanks to you, a model expample of a perfect idiot.

KOREA NEEDS TO GET OVER THIS INNOCENCE CHARADE BANNING DANCE MOVES AND CLOTHES. THE MOST SCANDALOUS, SEX AND DRUG FILLED INDUSTRY IS THE KOREAN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.
THAT NEW GIRL SINGER THAT JUST GOT SIGNED WITH AN ALBUM CONTRACT? IT WAS DUE TO HER GREAT PERFORMANCE.
      NOT ONSTAGE SINGING BUT OFFSTAGE.

THAT ACTRESS JUST SIGNED FOR THE LEAD ROLE IN THE NEXT HIT DRAMA/MOVIE? IT WAS A RESULT OF HER SKILLS ENTIRELY UNRELATED TO ACTING.

YOU DONT NEED SKILLS TO SUCCEED. JUST KNOW THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO “PLEASE.”

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND HOLIDAY OFF POPSEOUL. YOU WORKED HARD THIS WEEK.

      • OneJD says:

Of course the new girl singer that just got signed with an album contract did so by her off stage performance. That’s just good business sense on behalf of the label. Why the hell would you throw someone up on stage and THEN sign them? No, you’d see how they perform off stage and make your decision based on that. It’s called an audition, idiot.

Yeah, probably has a lot to do with her looks. Look at Megan Fox in Transformers, Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider, etc. Actresses are often chosen based on their physical appearance rather than acting prowess, idiot.

Depending on who you are, of course you don’t NEED talent to succeed. For example, I knew more than one classmate when I was in law school who got in simply because: (i) his father was a congressman and alumn; (ii) her father donated substantial amounts of money to the school; or (iii) her father was CEO of a entity that made significant donations each year, etc. This isn’t something that’s unique to Korea or even to the entertainment industry. Were you born yesterday?

  2. eboy07 says:

I find the title misleading. But to be honest the performance was not bad at all.

  3. benny says:

those skits are short, why not just go in their under wear and a shirt, easier

  4. ashley g. says:

I like this version of the dance better than the one in the mv good thing they changed it.

  5. AnonyMiss says:

Figures…. ITS ALL ABOUT VISUALS, NOT A THING ABOUT VOCALS ON A YET ANOTHER MUSIC(eh!??) PROGRAM.

    • OneJD says:

This is pop music, what did you expect? It’s no different from pop acts anywhere else. This is why pop music generally sucks, although visually it can be entertaining.

  6. American Girl says:

this choreography is better its embarassing to go on stage looking as though ur wiping something on your butt or waving away a fart.

  7. OneJD says:

I don’t find anything about the performance particularly noteworthy, for better or for worse. Seems like another girl group that’ll have their 15 minutes of fame and then fade away into obscurity. But that’s OK, from a consumer standpoint, as it encourages competition.

    • AnonyMss says:

Yeah..KPOP is definitely NOT about vocals or talent. That is why Kpop SHOULD be JUST “15 mins of fame”.

At least in the US, fans expect just a bit more from their faves. They let you know as soon as you suck. Unlike in Korea, where the fans are delusional and their idols are puppets.

  8. beehavinbadly says:

they’re talented, they’re singers i know and all are sexy but their whole appearance especially the sequined short dress reminds me of the korean club workers in saipan. im not hatin just sayin tho!

  9. ilovelowercaps says:

i just know that they are better than me, so no complaints here lol. i don’t know if i could sing like that while moving my body up and down. slutty clothing or not, i’m sure most of you were entertained, just follow me and mute the music LOL.

ok jokes aside, this group is not even that popular, so who cares. we aren’t even paying a penny to stream this video (well besides from your monthly internet bill). you need groups like SISTAR to make other groups shine =p

  10. Your Fan. says:

Ok her dress increadibly small just change the dress but not the dance.
