What happened to Onew?: SHINee in Pattaya

Recently SHINee were caught in Pattaya filming.
For some of you who don’t know what does Pattaya means, it is a city in Thailand.
According from SHINee’s fan websites, SHINee’s leader Onew is sick. There has been rumours around that it is just a normal cold, so don’t worry it isn’t that serious and plus our oppa takes his medicine on time.
He is just tired; he even takes rests between the filming, and rather than talking when he doesn’t have to film, he takes a small nap.

No you don’t have the right. You’re not Korean, and Korean society supports filial peity, which is why they say “oppa”. Filial peity is respect for parents, ancestors and elders within your society, and you’re not in their society.
Therefore, using “Oppa” in reference to a korean is not acceptable practise.
But it’s such a pleasant feeling to call someone “oppa”. You should try it too.
I’m not trying to be korean, so no. But I’ll laugh whenever you people trying to be koreans do it.
It’s no different to the use of ‘Kawaii’ by non-Japanese. Korean people are very positive about non native Korean speakers using Korean words, including oppa, it gives a sense of closeness, regardless of actual relations. This is coming from a girl of Taiwanese and Korean origin so I know what I’m talking about! 🙂

You are right. Non-Koreans addressing their fave male idols “oppa” just does not sound right.
I say just give them little English nicknames lol preferably a two syllable name which I’ve noticed they tend to use when they do acquire one. They would probably enjoy that more.
